Job summary

Cambian Group is seeking a Senior Team Leader to join our New Openings in the UK, focusing on creating a stable, welcoming environment where young people are central to every action. You will lead shifts, supervise care staff, and ensure safety and high standards across daily operations.

You will drive team development through mandatory learning, care-plan implementation, and regular documentation while supporting youths toward education and independence.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Desire to earn a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent Children & Younger Peoples workforce.
  • 12 months experience in a Residential setting is desirable.
  • DBS and reference checks will be undertaken per government regulations and safer recruitment best practice.

Responsibilities

  • Leading shifts and deputising for the Registered Manager when required.
  • Ensuring Residential Care Workers stay up to date with mandatory learning and their development.
  • Communicating with the on-site team and implementing individual care plans.
  • Maintaining accurate logs, continuation sheets and files for monitoring and evaluation.
  • Supporting and caring for the young people, encouraging their return to education and social activities.
  • Traveling with young people to and from School or College and organizing home life activities.

The working day can be very unpredictable and you could find yourself spending the entire morning Organising activities and the afternoon providing 1:1 support.

We have our very own Management Development Programme to take those interested from Support Worker to Registered Manager and beyond

Shift Pattern: 16>24 Hour (including Sleep-in) on a one on two off or two on four off basis.

The young people in our care range between the ages of 8-18 years of age and have a range of behavioural and emotional needs.

Of-course - no day is the same here at the Cambian Group, however here is what a day in the life of one of our Senior Team Leader could look like:

Leading shifts and deputising for the Registered Manager where required
Ensuring that our incredible team of Residential Care Workers are up to date with all mandatory learning and assisting with their individual development
Communicating with the on-site team and raising awareness with regards to individual care plans and their implementation
Maintaining accurate written records in logs, continuation sheets and files both to record information and enable regular monitoring and evaluation to take place
Contributing to team and staff meetings to facilitate good communication and staff development
Providing support and care to the young people within our services
Encouraging our young people in their preparation to re-enter education or to engage in their current schooling
Traveling with our young people to and from School or College
Preparing food at meal times and maintaining the home (cleaning, laundry etc.) throughout the day to ensure a wonderful environment for the young people in our care
Organising and facilitating social activities

Within this service, we support young people of mixed age and gender and continually have incredible successes. The young people we support are very well adjusted to school and are achieving great marks and participating in a number of activities.

Requirements:

Must hold a full UK driving licence

12 months experience working in a Residential setting is highly desirable but we do also encourage applications from those at the start of their journey
