Job summary

Esland's residential team near Newport, Shropshire, is seeking a compassionate Children's Residential Support Worker to provide nurturing, therapeutic care for up to 3 young people in a home setting.

You will build trusting relationships, support education plans, and help young people engage in activities, with a 2-on/4-off shift pattern including sleeps.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence required.
• Applicants must have full right to work in the UK with no restrictions.
• Values aligned with a therapeutic, person-centred approach to childcare.
• Due to regulations, applicants must be aged 21 or above.

Responsibilities

• Support up to 3 young people in a nurturing, therapeutic home.
• Assist with domestic needs, socialisation skills and activities.
• Contribute to personalised education plans and excursions.

Job description

Location: Calvington House - Newport, Shropshire

Department: Residential

Compensation: £32,242 - £35,745 / year

Salary: £32,242.00 to £35,745.00 per annum. (including 6 - 10 sleeps per month paid at £60 per sleep and an hourly rate of £13.45 to £13.75 per hour (depending on qualification). Opportunities to pick up overtime at enhanced rate.)

Hours: 173 hours per month - shift pattern is 2 days on, 4 days off, with sleep in’s. Rotas given in advance. We are a 365 day a year service due to the nature of our work.

Essential requirements for a Children's Residential Support Worker:

• A full driving licence issued in the UK
• Applicants must have full right to work in the UK with no restrictions
• Values in line with Esland's, such as taking a therapeutic, person-centred approach to childcare
• Due to industry regulations, applicants must be aged 21 or above
• Previous childcare or support worker experience is advantageous but not essential

Our beautiful home in near Newport offers a nurturing and therapeutic environment for up to 3 young people. Our team supports them with all of their domestic needs and socialisation skills while learning new things and experiencing fun activities and excursions together. We can offer educational places in our schools where our young people can engage in a more personalised education plan to help them turn the curve and reach their full potential.
