Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Children's Support Worker in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales. The role offers flexible hours, with both part-time and full-time temporary shifts to support children and young people in daily activities, trips, and community events.

You will work under supervision to promote independence, wellbeing and safeguarding, following care plans. A caring, resilient nature and a right to work in the UK are essential.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 6 months' experience working with children or within a social care setting.
• Restraint training certification (or willingness to undergo training).
• A current Enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
• A valid UK Driving Licence.
• Understanding of trauma, homelessness, domestic abuse, and their impacts on young people.
• An empathetic, resilient, and caring nature with excellent relationship-building skills.
• The right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Supporting children and young people with their daily activities, interests, and development.
• Promoting independence and wellbeing through personalised care and support.
• Attending trips, holidays, and weekend activities to enhance social skills and experiences.
• Ensuring the safety and welfare of children by following care plans and safeguarding guidelines.
