Your role as a Children’s Support Worker involves working closely with children in care, putting their needs at the center of everything you do. Your daily responsibilities include supporting them in educational pursuits, hobbies, and activities.

Your experience and support will be instrumental in developing positive outcomes and shaping the future of children and young people.

You should be highly motivated, committed, and genuinely interested in delivering the highest quality of care for children and young people. With Nurseplus, you will work across various settings including Mental Health, Autism, Challenging Behaviour, Education, and Residential care.

Responsibilities of a Children’s Support Worker:

  • Supporting, safeguarding, and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people
  • Assisting with daily routines, which may include working in the community and/or educational settings
  • Organising and facilitating social activities
  • Transportation
  • Working alongside a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe practices
  • Providing high levels of supervision and support
  • Working in accordance with Ofsted and CQC regulations
  • Managing complex behaviours and crisis interventions
  • Contributing to care plans and risk assessments, including their review and implementation

Requirements for a Children’s Support Worker:

  • A minimum of 12 months post-qualification experience working with children and/or young adults
  • All candidates must be over 21 years old to meet industry regulations
  • Knowledge in one of the following areas: EBD, SEMH, CSE, or SEN/SEND
  • Diploma Level 3 in children’s and young people, with Level 4 desirable
