Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Social Support Worker to engage with children facing challenges such as SEMH and Autism. Job description

Social Support Worker Role

Start Date: ASAP

Position Type: Full-time, Temp to Perm

Working Hours: 8:15 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

Salary: £ - £ per hour

Role Overview

The role involves working on a 1:1 basis with children who have challenging behaviour, SEMH, Autism, and have been through the care system. You will be responsible for providing individualised behaviour interventions and ensuring the child's safety at all times.

Candidate Requirements
  • Experience working with challenging behaviour and SEMH in educational or alternative children’s provision settings.
  • Support workers, youth workers, ex-prison/security staff, and children’s residential care workers are encouraged to apply.
  • Previous experience managing challenging behaviour in groups or on a 1:1 basis.
  • Experience working with children, young people, or young adults with mental health needs, challenging behaviour, and Autism.
  • Available immediately.
  • Must have a Clear Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce/Child and Adult Workforce) registered with the Update Service. Assistance in applying for one can be provided if needed.
  • Available for full-time work, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM.
