Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Care Team Leader / Residential Support Worker with 3 years of experience to join an OFSTED-registered therapeutic children's home. This full-time role offers a salary of £14.50 per hour and benefits.

As a Care Team Leader / Residential Support Worker, you will provide therapeutic support to children, promoting their physical, emotional, and social development.

You will be responsible for:

  1. Leading a small care team to deliver high-quality, child-centred support.
  2. Overseeing risk assessments, behaviour plans, and individual care planning.
  3. Supporting the ongoing professional development of junior staff.
  4. Liaising with professionals from external agencies and local authorities.
  5. Maintaining accurate documentation, including budgets and petty cash.
  6. Managing incidents and supporting the home in a calm, structured manner.
  7. Facilitating regular team meetings and participating in 1:1 supervision sessions.

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience as a Care coordinator, Care Team Leader, Care Supervisor, Senior Support Worker, Assistant Home Manager, Residential Support Worker, Therapeutic Practitioner, Care Practitioner, or in a similar role.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in residential children's homes.
  • Background working with children aged 5-18 years or supporting young adults.
  • Level 3 diploma in residential childcare.
  • Understanding of the developmental and emotional needs of children and young people.
  • Knowledge of child-centred care, including the impact of trauma, attachment, and the importance of routine, boundaries, and consistency.
  • Enhanced DBS check.
