Job summary

Paragon Social Care is recruiting for a Children’s Residential Support Worker in Crook, County Durham. This full-time role involves supporting children and young people in a specialist residential setting, prioritising safety, stability and positive development.

You will work weekends and bank holidays on a rota, building nurturing relationships and contributing to a caring home environment while following care plans and safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in children's residential care or similar settings.
• Experience supporting children with emotional or behavioural needs.
• Commitment to safeguarding and professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
• Provide emotional support, reassurance and positive role modelling.
• Create a safe, warm, nurturing home environment.
• Build trusting relationships based on respect, patience and consistency.
• Carry out welfare checks and follow care plans and risk assessments.
• Respond calmly to incidents, safeguarding concerns and emergencies.
• Maintain accurate records, reports and handovers.
• Complete safety, security and fire checks.
• Work with colleagues, families and external professionals.
• Follow care plans and safeguarding procedures.
