Job summary

Service Care Solutions is seeking a Residential Support Worker for a children's home in Nottinghamshire. You will provide safe, child-centred care, support emotional and educational development, and work closely with families and professionals.

The role follows a 2-week contract with a 2 days on / 4 days off pattern, offering progression opportunities and a strong training programme. A caring, team-focused approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and young people (desirable).
• Previous experience in a children’s residential setting (preferred).
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Willingness to work towards relevant qualifications in Children and Young People's Services.

Responsibilities

• Providing safe, consistent, and child-centred care to children and young people.
• Supporting emotional, physical, and psychological wellbeing of young residents.
• Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children at all times.
• Building positive relationships and acting as a positive role model.
• Assisting young people with education, training, employment, and life skills development.
• Supporting the implementation and review of care plans.
• Encouraging participation in recreational, educational, and social activities.
• Working collaboratively with families, social workers, schools, and external professionals.
• Completing accurate case records and reports using electronic systems.
• Undertaking household duties such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a homely environment.
• Administering medication in line with organisational policies and training.
