Your Chapter Ltd in Oldham is hiring a Residential Support Worker to assist vulnerable children in a caring, family-like residential setting. The role involves supporting daily routines, education, and recreational activities while ensuring safety and well-being across the home.

You’ll join a dedicated team, receive full training, and contribute to positive outcomes for children and young people, with shifts including evenings, weekends, and occasional sleep-ins.

Location: Oldham, OL8
Salary: Up to £33,703 per annum
Hours: Full-time, permanent (37.5 hours per week) with a flexible shift pattern, including evenings, weekends, and an average of two sleep-ins per week (included in salary - £55 per sleep-in). Voluntary overtime is also available.

As a Children’s Residential Support Worker, you’ll be a crucial part of a passionate team, helping vulnerable young people through their challenges and creating positive change in their lives.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Residential Support Worker, your role will include:

• Supporting daily routines: Supporting children with personal care, meal preparation, and daily activities to help them develop independence
• Educational support: Encouraging and supporting children in their learning journey, assisting with homework, and helping them develop new skills
• Leading recreational activities: Organising and leading recreational activities, including fun events and holidays, to increase engagement and enhance well-being.
• Emotional support: Providing guidance, care, and person-centred support to help children navigate difficult moments
• Documentation: Completing care plans, reports, and maintaining accurate records.
• Maintaining a safe environment: Ensuring the home is clean, secure, and well-organised
• Team collaboration: Working closely with colleagues to create a positive, nurturing environment

Previous experience in residential care is preferred but not essential—we provide full training to support your success in the role.
