Job summary

Your Chapter in Burnley is seeking a committed Residential Support Worker to help vulnerable children and young people, delivering daily care, educational support, and engaging activities. You’ll work as part of a friendly team in a residential setting, with a flexible shift pattern including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins included in the salary.

Full training is provided; prior residential care experience is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Supporting daily routines: Supporting children with personal care, meal preparation, and daily activities to help them develop independence
• Educational support: Encouraging and supporting children in their learning journey, assisting with homework, and helping them develop new skills
• Leading recreational activities: Organising and leading recreational activities, including fun events and holidays, to increase engagement and enhance well-being
• Emotional support: Providing guidance, care, and person-centred support to help children navigate difficult moments
• Documentation: Completing care plans, reports, and maintaining accurate records
• Maintaining a safe environment: Ensuring the home is clean, secure, and well‑organised
• Team collaboration: Working closely with colleagues to create a positive, nurturing environment

Location: Burnley, BB12
Salary: Up to £33,703 per annum
Hours: Full-time, permanent (37.5 hours per week) with a flexible shift pattern, including evenings, weekends, and an average of two sleep-ins per week (included in salary - £55 per sleep-in). Voluntary overtime is also available.

As a Children’s Residential Support Worker, you’ll be a crucial part of a passionate team, helping vulnerable young people through their challenges and creating positive change in their lives.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Residential Support Worker, your role will include:
