Job summary

Your Chapter in Telford is seeking a Children’s Residential Support Worker to join a dedicated team providing stability, support and inspiration to vulnerable young people.

In this full‑time, permanent role you will help with daily routines, educational support, and recreational activities, while maintaining a safe, nurturing home environment and accurate documentation. Sleep-ins are included in the package, with a sleep-in rate, and ongoing training is provided to support your success.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential care is preferred but not essential.
• Full training provided to support success in the role.

Responsibilities

• Supporting daily routines and personal care to help children develop independence.
• Educational support, homework help and skill development.
• Leading recreational activities to boost engagement and well-being.
• Providing emotional support and person-centered guidance.
• Completing care plans, reports and maintaining records.
• Maintaining a safe, clean and well-organised home environment.
• Working closely with colleagues to create a nurturing team culture.

Children's Residential Support Worker
Location: Telford, TF6
Salary: Up to £33,703.00 per annum
Hours: Full-time, permanent (37.5 hours/week)

Shift Pattern: Flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and an average of two sleep-ins per week (included in salary)

Sleep-In Rate: £55 per sleep-in (included in total salary package)

As a Children’s Residential Support Worker, you'll be part of a passionate and dedicated team working together to provide stability, support, and inspiration to young people when they need it most.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Residential Support Worker, your role will include:

• Supporting daily routines: Supporting children with personal care, meal preparation, and daily activities to help them develop independence
• Educational support: Encouraging and supporting children in their learning journey, assisting with homework, and helping them develop new skills
• Leading recreational activities: Organising and leading recreational activities, including fun events and holidays, to increase engagement and enhance well-being.
• Emotional support: Providing guidance, care, and person-centered support to help children navigate difficult moments
• Documentation: Completing care plans, reports, and maintaining accurate records.
• Maintaining a safe environment: Ensuring the home is clean, secure, and well-organised
• Team collaboration: Working closely with colleagues to create a positive, nurturing environment

Previous experience in residential care is preferred but not essential—we provide full training to support your success in the role.
