Job description

Join us in Staffordshire to work with our children, young people and families.

We are committed to providing the best care and support, fostering lifelong relationships with our children. Creativity and fun are at the core of our approach, both inside and outside the homes. Our specialist teams support children and young people across Staffordshire, with numerous vacancies available.

As we continue to develop and enhance our in-house residential service, we currently have a vacancy at The Alders and at Brunswick Place (Stafford short breaks).

Our working pattern varies and is based on a rota to include five 8-hour shifts per week, including two rest days. Our new increased pay range also recognises the challenging nature of the role. We embrace strength-based approaches and offer a rewarding work-life balance.

Main Responsibilities
  • You will take a lead role to support and work alongside the Registered Manager to ensure the home meets the requirements of the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
  • Oversee the effective day-to-day running of the children’s home whilst being responsible for direct supervision and support of the residential team.
  • Support young people in all areas of their lives, creating an environment where they can flourish and achieve their full potential.
  • Work on your own initiative and deal with challenging and demanding situations, requiring resilience and flexibility.
What you can expect from us
  • A detailed induction programme covering all elements of the role.
  • An experienced, supportive, and motivated management team eager to help you learn and grow.
  • Opportunities for funded qualifications and new learning courses.
  • Monthly 1:1 reflective sessions with the manager and support for a team of Residential Workers.
  • Networking opportunities with other professionals supporting children.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience in a management role and working with children and young people in a residential setting.
  • Minimum NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Caring for Young People.
  • Ideally, NVQ/QCF Level 4 or above in Management, or willingness to undertake this qualification.
  • Must be aged 22 or over, due to legal requirements linked to safeguarding and the specific needs of residents.
  • Application from candidates over 22 years old only.
