Job summary

Salutem Care and Education in Wales is seeking a dedicated nurse to lead healthcare plans for 8 children and young people with complex disabilities. The role involves safe medication management, clinical input, and ongoing health interventions within a residential setting.

You will train and supervise staff in medication administration and clinical practice, sign off competencies, and ensure full regulatory compliance. DBS and other pre-employment checks are part of the recruitment process.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee children’s healthcare plans, ensuring safe management and administration of medication.
• Undertake clinical assessments and deliver nursing input and interventions as required.
• Provide training, support and supervision to staff in medication administration, clinical practice and health promotion.
• Assess and sign off staff clinical competencies (e.g., PEG, epilepsy rescue meds, stoma care, enema, oxygen therapy) per child/young person needs.
• Promote and safeguard physical health, emotional wellbeing and developmental needs.
• Coordinate health appointments with the wider team and attend weekly Integrated Care and Wellbeing Meetings.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure CIW/HIW/NMC compliance.
