Salary: £31,200 - £32,400 plus sleep-in allowance

Job Description:

Leader Recruitment Group is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our client's team. The role involves leading by example in promoting the wellbeing, development, and safety of children in a residential setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the residential home, ensuring high standards of care.
• Lead, mentor, and support a team of care workers, fostering a positive environment.
• Develop and implement individual care plans with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Engage directly with children, providing emotional support and guidance.
• Manage challenging behaviours with empathy, using de-escalation techniques.
• Maintain accurate records, report writing, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Participate in staff recruitment, training, and performance reviews.
• Ensure safety and security of the home, including safeguarding policies.
• Drive children to appointments and activities as required.

Requirements:

• Substantial experience in a similar role within a children's residential setting.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Residential Childcare or Children & Young People's Workforce.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent knowledge of child protection and safeguarding.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Must pass an enhanced DBS check.
• Full induction and training provided.
