Job summary

RTC Resources Ltd is partnering with a growing children’s residential care provider in North Manchester to appoint an experienced Registered Manager for two small homes (2-bed and 3-bed) serving young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

The successful candidate will drive Ofsted registration and develop the new service from the outset, leading care teams, ensuring safeguarding and high standards, and collaborating with local authorities and senior management to deliver

Qualifications

• Previous management experience in an Ofsted-regulated children’s residential setting.
• Experience supporting children and young people with EBD (emotional and behavioural difficulties).
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day management of two children’s residential homes.

Job description

RTC Resources is working in partnership with a growing children’s residential care provider seeking an experienced and passionate Children’s Home Registered Manager to oversee two small residential homes in North Manchester.

This is an exciting opportunity for an established Registered Manager looking to take the next step in their career, or an ambitious and experienced Deputy Manager ready to progress into a Registered Manager position.

The successful candidate will oversee a 2-bed and 3-bed children’s residential service supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

One of the key responsibilities will be supporting the registration and development of a new children’s home, offering the opportunity to play an important role in shaping the service from the outset.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day management and operational delivery of two children’s residential homes.
• Lead, motivate and develop residential care teams to deliver outstanding care and support.
• Support the Ofsted registration process for a new children’s home.
• Ensure both services operate in line with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding requirements and relevant legislation.
• Develop and maintain effective care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
• Promote a safe, nurturing and supportive environment for children and young people.
• Work closely with senior management, external professionals and local authorities.
• Maintain high standards of care, compliance and service development.

Requirements

• Previous management experience within an Ofsted-regulated children’s residential setting.
• Ideally a minimum of two years’ experience as a Registered Manager, although strong Deputy Managers will also be considered.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or currently working towards completion.
• Experience supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
• Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding and children’s residential care legislation.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Experience opening or registering a new children’s home would be advantageous but is not essential.

Salary & Career Development

• £48,000–£75,000 per annum, depending on experience, qualifications and suitability.
