Job summary

RTC Resources Ltd is seeking an experienced Registered Children’s Home Manager to lead a growing residential service in Manchester. You will oversee safeguarding, Ofsted compliance, and high-quality care for children and young people.

We welcome applications from current Registered Managers or deputy managers ready to step up, with a focus on developing staff, maintaining quality standards, and delivering excellent outcomes in a nurturing, safe home environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in children’s residential care settings.
• Experience at Registered Manager or Deputy Manager level.
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted, safeguarding and Children’s Homes Regulations.
• Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
• Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification, or willingness to work towards this.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Child-centred and professional approach.
• Ability to build and develop a residential service.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing residential care team.
• Ensure the home operates in line with Ofsted standards and Children’s Homes Regulations.
• Support the service through registration and ongoing regulatory inspections.
• Recruit, supervise and develop staff.
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding and quality assurance.
• Develop individualised care plans for children and young people.
• Manage referrals, placements and occupancy.
• Work closely with families, social workers, local authorities and other professionals.
• Monitor budgets, staffing levels and operational performance.
• Create a positive, stable and supportive environment for the children and young people within the home.

Job description

RTC Resources is working with a growing children’s residential care provider that is looking to appoint an experienced Registered Children’s Home Manager to support the development of its services across Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Registered Manager, or a strong Deputy Manager ready to take the next step, to join a developing organisation and play a key role in the growth of its children’s residential provision.

The services support children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties, and the successful candidate will be responsible for leading a safe, nurturing and high-quality home while ensuring full compliance with Ofsted requirements and Children’s Homes Regulations.

The Role

• Leading and developing a high-performing residential care team
• Ensuring the home operates in line with Ofsted standards and Children’s Homes Regulations
• Supporting the service through registration and ongoing regulatory inspections

• Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and quality assurance

• Managing referrals, placements and occupancy
• Working closely with families, social workers, local authorities and other professionals

• Creating a positive, stable and supportive environment for the children and young people within the home

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience within a children’s residential care setting
• Experience working at Registered Manager or Deputy Manager level
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted, safeguarding and Children’s Homes Regulations
• Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or equivalent
• Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification, or willingness to work towards this
• Strong leadership and people-management skills
• A child-centred and professional approach
• The ability to build and develop a successful residential service
• A full UK driving licence

Applications from experienced Deputy Managers who are ready to progress into their first Registered Manager position will also be considered.
