Job summary

Excelcare Holdings is expanding its Children's Services with a Children’s Home Deputy Manager in Histon. You will work alongside an experienced Registered Manager to provide a safe, nurturing environment for ages 6-17, guiding staff and ensuring high standards of care.

The role requires awareness of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations, and basic budgeting. A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare is essential, with Level 5 Leadership & Management desirable.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Ofsted Regulations (SCCIF) and safeguarding.
• Evidence of leadership in a residential setting preferred.
• Budget awareness and rota planning experience.
• Child-centred, trauma-informed approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager with day-to-day running of the home.

Job role: Children's Home Deputy Manager

Location: Histon, Cambridgeshire

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum plus additional sleep in payments- £62.00 per night

Shift Pattern: 9am to 5pm plus working shifts when needed and occasional sleep ins.

The Registered Manager and Responsible Individual are already in post aswell as the Support Worker Team and you'll also have the help and guidance from our well-establish central support function which includes HR, Recruitment, Governance, Finance, Payroll, Marketing and much more.

As Children's Home Deputy Manager, you will help shape the culture and day-to-day running of a beautifully presented home for children aged 6-17, working alongside an experienced Registered Manager to create a safe, nurturing and trauma-informed environment.

This role would suit a passionate leader who can guide and motivate staff, model excellent practice and help children build confidence, independence and positive long-term outcomes.

Children's Home Deputy Manager key responsibilities:

• In this key leadership role, you will support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring high standards of care are consistently maintained.
• You will lead and support the residential team to deliver outstanding care, promote positive outcomes and ensure the home meets Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and safeguarding requirements.

Children's Home Deputy Manager key requirements:

• Strong understanding of Ofsted Regulations (SCCIF), Safeguarding and Quality Standards as well as previous experience working in a children's home setting or similar.
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
• Level 5 Leadership & Management (desirable - fully supported if not yet achieved)
• A confident, calm and child-centred leader who can support and motivate teams
• Experience with rotas and basic budget awareness
• Full UK driving licence
