Job summary

A leading training provider in Cardiff is seeking a qualified assessor to support apprenticeship learners in Health and Social Care. The ideal candidate will have relevant training experience and a recognised assessing qualification. Responsibilities include providing structured training and maintaining accurate learner records. Responsibilities
  • Provide end to end structured support to apprenticeship learners on programme.
  • Ensure the most effective and up-to-date approaches are implemented to prepare learners to successfully progress their career.
  • Engage in hands-on training and theoretical knowledge to equip learners with essential skills for a successful career in the industry.
  • Adapt training to learner needs to maintain the highest training standards.
  • Cover a regional area and travel to learners' workplaces for assessments.
  • Complete Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and outline personalised learning pathways.
  • Reference and evaluate evidence collected in the workplace to meet key skill requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner attendance and guided contact hours, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
  • Contribute to the planning, monitoring, and achievement of set performance targets.
  • Arrange additional training through day release and provide in-house training support as needed.
  • Keep detailed records of clients' achievements to meet the performance criteria established by relevant awarding bodies.
What we are looking for
  • Essential: Relevant training experience and a recognised teaching or assessing qualification (e.g., A1 Assessor Award, TAQA, CAVA, or equivalent) and experience in an apprenticeship setting.
  • Proven occupational experience and technical competence in Health and Social Care delivery.
  • Full driving license and access to a vehicle.
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check (cost covered by the company) and EWC registration.
  • Welsh speaking is desirable.
