Job description

Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship– Little Angels Day Nursery

The Aspire Training Team are seeking a motivated, reliable and enthusiastic individual as an apprentice to complete their Level 3 Childcare qualification with Little Angels Day Nursery.

Little Angels nursery is conveniently located near junction 13 of the M5 in the picturesque town of Stonehouse. The Nursery has a rural feel being positioned on the towpath of the Stroudwater canal.

Little Angels has been owned by Fran and Tim since 2014. The warmth and natural friendliness that you will experience from all of our staff from the moment you step inside, whether on a visit, a settling in session or just day to day, it’s in our blood.

We are passionate and united in creating something really special. The fact that we all love working with children and believe in what we do helps us come together to create the fantastic high-quality childcare that we have become known for and the reason that parents choose to entrust us with their children time and time again.

We ensure that each child is given the best possible start in life by receiving the highest level of personalised care whilst creating a rich learning environment where every child is given the challenge and support needed to achieve their full potential.

It is our aim to foster an ethos of effective partnerships between families, agencies, schools and the wider community. Life is all about care and respect for others. We believe it is vital for children to become part of a social group outside of the home, whilst being at nursery they can make friends with whom they can learn and share, take turns and role model each other.

We feel very strongly that children should respect each other and begin to understand that there will be differences and similarities between one another and we encourage children to express their feelings in a positive way, and to respect each other’s opinions.

We promote a happy and relaxed free-flowing environment between the nursery and the extensive gardens, where we see plenty of local wildlife and encourage the natural wonder and curiosity of the children, providing a balanced curriculum through child-initiated play and planned adult-directed focused times.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Planning and implementing age-appropriate activities.
  • Covering the 7 areas of learning.
  • Observe and assess key children’s progress.
  • Lead by example.
  • Demonstrate best practice early childhood care.
  • Create a safe and stimulating environment for the children.
  • Support with all aspects of care.
  • Assist with mealtimes.

Requirements:

  • Level 2 Early Years Qualification is required when applying.
  • To obtain a clear DBS.
  • GCSE’s A*-C/4+ in English Language and Maths, or equivalent i.e. functional skills.
  • Will have a strong background in early childhood education and experience working with children in a nursery setting.
  • Genuine passion for working with young children.
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of EYFS.

Hours:

  • Little Angels Day Nursery is open from 08:00 - 18:00 Monday-Friday.
  • You will be required to work a minimum of 30 hours per week and shift patterns will be discussed.
