This full-time, permanent role is ideal for someone looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with a range of learning and physical disabilities.

Role Summary

In this vital role, you will work closely with children who have additional needs, including physical and learning disabilities, sensory impairments, autism, and complex medical requirements. Your support will be integral in helping them access a broad and engaging curriculum while promoting independence and dignity.

Essential Qualities That We Are Looking For:

  • Deliver 1:1 and small-group support tailored to each child s needs and educational plans.
  • Assist with personal care routines, mobility, and medical needs, following appropriate training and guidance.
  • Provide a consistent and nurturing presence, encouraging social interaction and emotional regulation.
  • Use assistive technologies and communication tools where necessary to facilitate understanding and engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and external professionals to ensure a holistic support approach.
  • Monitor progress and behaviour, maintaining accurate and confidential records in line with safeguarding expectations.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Experience supporting children with disabilities in an educational, residential, or healthcare setting is essential.
  • A patient, caring and respectful approach with an understanding of individual differences.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and personal care procedures.
  • Relevant qualifications in health & social care, childcare, or special education are desirable.
  • Have an updated CV (with two relevant references from the last two years and covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
