Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting for a Child Development Support Assistant to work in welcoming Primary Schools across Jarrow, starting in September. The role is ideal for qualified Teaching Assistants passionate about supporting children’s development and wellbeing.

You will provide one-to-one and small group support, help pupils access learning and foster positive behaviour in a nurturing environment. DBS checked staff with ongoing training are offered.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or above (essential).
• Experience in a Primary School setting.
• Good understanding of SEND, autism, ADHD or SEMH is desirable.
• Patient, resilient and nurturing approach with children.

Responsibilities

• Support children with learning, communication and developmental needs.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to access learning.
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and social development.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
• Support pupils with SEND, including autism, ADHD and SEMH.
• Assist with classroom activities, interventions and learning programmes.
• Encourage independence, confidence and engagement in learning.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENDCOs and pastoral teams to track progress.
• Create a nurturing, safe and inclusive learning environment.
