Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a Child Development Support Assistant to work in Primary Schools across Washington, starting in September. You will support pupils with learning, social and emotional development.

Ideal candidates are qualified Teaching Assistants with a caring, patient approach; DBS Update Service preferred. We offer flexible working, access to Milk Academy, and ongoing development through our network.

Qualifications

• Level 2 TA qualification or above (essential).
• Experience in a Primary School setting.
• Passion for child development and wellbeing.
• Desirable: SEND/SEMH/Autism/ADHD understanding.
• Strong communication and relationships.
• Enhanced DBS via Update Service or willingness.
• Additional qualifications in Education or Childcare advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support children with learning, communication and developmental needs.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to access learning.
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and social development.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
• Support children with SEND including Autism, ADHD, Speech & Language needs and SEMH.
• Assist with classroom activities, interventions and learning programmes.
• Encourage independence, confidence and engagement in learning.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENDCOs and pastoral teams to support progress.
• Create a nurturing, safe and inclusive learning environment.
