Role: Child Care Solicitor (Hybrid)

Salary: Up to 50k

Location: Manchester or Blackburn - Hybrid

The Role:

Covering all aspects of Child Care work, you will provide technical expertise and guidance to team members and external clients. You will manage and supervise colleagues, i.e., solicitors, trainee solicitors, and caseworkers/paralegals, to handle appropriate caseload types and complexities. You will assist with the delivery of training and development opportunities within the team.

Varied duties include dealing with a range of care work such as:

1. Legal Aid/CCMS procedures
2. Care Orders, Interim Care Orders
3. Supervision Orders, Interim Supervision Orders
4. Emergency Protection Orders, Police Protection Orders
5. Special Guardianship Orders, Placement Orders
6. Adoption Orders, International Adoption Orders
7. Pre Proceedings Meetings
8. Child protection case conferences and review conferences
9. Defending allegations of injury, abuse, or neglect
10. Child Arrangement Orders, Domestic abuse/violence cases
11. Prohibited Steps Orders and Specific Issue Orders

You will represent parents, grandparents, other family members, and children directly or through their CAFCASS-appointed Children's Guardian.

Additionally, you will work to develop the department, generate work, and build upon existing contacts.
