Job summary

Northern LGPS is seeking a Head of Technology to shape its technology strategy and capabilities as it enters a pivotal development phase. The role will set multi-year vision, strengthen governance, and ensure secure, reliable technology across the organisation.

You will align technology with organisational priorities, lead a high-performing team, manage external providers and budgets, and drive change supporting long-term investment outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience leading technology strategy at board or senior management level.
• Strong governance, risk, cybersecurity and resilience experience.
• Ability to manage multi-year technology programmes and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a multi-year technology strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Provide leadership across technology governance, risk, cybersecurity and operational resilience.
• Oversee technology projects, programmes and change portfolios with focus on value delivery.
• Lead technology operations to ensure availability, reliability and performance.
• Identify opportunities for digital transformation and automation to improve services.
• Build relationships with senior stakeholders, regulators and external service providers.
• Manage technology budgets, contracts and supplier performance.
• Lead, develop and retain a high-performing technology team.
• Operate within compliance, control and governance frameworks.
