Job summary

NHS Jobs is seeking a senior Health & Safety, Risk & Governance lead for a Hospice in the United Kingdom. You will drive the organisation's health & safety governance, risk management framework and regulatory compliance, overseeing audits, inspections and incident investigations across the hospice estate and operations.

You will chair the Health, Safety and Risk Group, coordinate CQC readiness, manage budgets and oversee business continuity and insurance liaising with regulators and insurers.

Qualifications

• Experience leading risk management framework and assurance processes.
• Knowledge of HSE requirements and CQC regulations.
• Ability to chair groups and implement audit actions.
• Experience with incident investigations and risk assessments across healthcare settings.
• Act as main liaison with regulators and insurers.

Responsibilities

• Lead organisational risk management framework, risk registers and assurance processes.
• Develop and maintain Health & Safety, Risk Management and Compliance policies.
• Chair the Health, Safety and Risk Group; oversee action plans and audit recommendations.
• Provide specialist advice on Health & Safety, risk and hazard management.
• Ensure audits, inspections, incident investigations and risk assessments are in place across the Hospice.
• Coordinate readiness for CQC inspections and provide regular compliance reports to executives.
• Maintain and test the organisational Business Continuity plan and manage insurance relationships.
• Manage health and safety budgets and report to the Executive Team and Trustees.
• Line manage the Health & Safety Coordinator and promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
