Job summary

Willen Hospice in Milton Keynes seeks an experienced Head of Clinical Quality and Governance to own governance and quality assurance, fostering a culture of learning and improvement. You will lead audits, risk management and incident learning, and prepare for CQC inspections while supporting clinical teams across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in a senior clinical governance, quality or risk management role within a health or social care setting.
• Working knowledge of Care Quality Commission fundamental standards and experience hosting regulatory inspections.
• Track record leading clinical audit and quality improvement programmes.
• Experience investigating incidents and complaints, including root cause analysis and PSIRF.
• Ability to present clearly and support staff in challenging moments.
• Strong commitment to hospice care values and mission.

Responsibilities

• Lead the systems and culture that keep care safe, effective and continually improving.
• Take ownership of clinical audit, risk management and incident learning.
• Lead readiness for Care Quality Commission inspection and produce the Quality Account.
• Line manage the Practice Development Lead and Data Analyst.
• Ensure expertise is felt in ward rounds, home visits and difficult conversations with families.
