Job description
Overview

We are looking for a passionate and forward-thinking Chief Audiologist to join our team and help deliver on our vision: to be a trusted provider of consistently outstanding care and exemplary service for our patients. This role supports a service transformation across multiple sites and is part of a growth plan that includes six new roles.

Sites under transformation include:

  • Lister Hospital: three state-of-the-art sound-treated booths, a modern workshop, and a telehealth space within the ENT clinic.
  • Danestrete Health Centre: refurbished for adult hearing aid services.
  • QEII Hospital: dedicated solely to paediatric audiology.
  • Hertford County Hospital: future flagship site opening Autumn 2025 with 20 rooms, including eight sound-treated booths, consultation spaces, vestibular diagnostics, administrative offices, and a multidisciplinary environment.

We value Include, Respect, and Improve. We encourage you to embody these values throughout the recruitment process and in your role with us.

Responsibilities
  • Steer the rehabilitation and implant service, working in conjunction with two current ENT Otology specialists.
  • Oversee training of Students (BSc & MSc) and junior staff.
  • Lead and contribute to research and audit in collaboration with ENT colleagues.
  • Support service development and transformation across multiple sites.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Applicants must hold a BSc in Audiology or equivalent. An MSc or evidence of postgraduate study is preferred.
  • AHCS registration and membership of BAA is desirable; registration and/or HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist may be required or pursued.
  • Applications are welcome from Audiologists nearing completion of their STP; eligibility to achieve AHCS and/or HCPC registration is expected.

Research and audit are strongly supported; the successful applicant will be encouraged to build on this.
