Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is assisting a Colchester secondary school in recruiting a Chemistry Teacher for an ASAP start. The role covers main Chemistry teaching within the Science curriculum and requires engaging lessons across key stages.

You will plan, assess progress, provide feedback and work with colleagues to support and challenge pupils while upholding safe lab practices and high expectations.

Qualifications

• Chemistry Teacher with strong subject knowledge.
• Ability to teach the relevant Science curriculum at the required key stages.
• QTS, PGCE or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Confidence in planning theoretical and practical Chemistry lessons.
• Understanding of assessment, examination preparation and differentiated teaching.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and legal eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Plan lessons and assess progress, providing targeted feedback.
• Prepare students for examinations where applicable.
• Collaborate with colleagues to review resources and identify learning gaps.
• Ensure pupils are supported and challenged across the curriculum.
