Job summary

Compass Group UK&I ESS is recruiting an ambitious Chef to support Defence operations on a full-time basis, contracted to 35 hours per week. The role focuses on preparing and serving high-quality food while driving service improvements across UK establishments, with opportunities to progress within a market-leading food service company.

You will need a City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent and a Food Hygiene certificate, with prior supervision experience preferred.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent required.
• Food Hygiene certificate required.
• Experience supervising a kitchen team preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality food that delights clients and customers.
• Oversee and implement menu changes.
• Identify opportunities to improve food services.
• Listen to customer feedback to drive improvements.
• Assist with creating new menus and food concepts.
• Represent Defence and maintain a positive brand image.
• Monitor inventories to keep kitchens stocked.
• Oversee kitchen cleaning to maintain hygiene standards.
• Comply with Food Handling and Health & Safety regulations.
