Job summary

Enhance Catering is recruiting a Chef Manager to lead the catering operation at a primary school in Harrogate. This hands-on role suits a confident chef who delivers high-quality meals using fresh ingredients.

You will oversee a well-organised kitchen, solo working, and ensure strict food safety and health & safety standards. Term-time, 27.5 hours per week, pay £20,000 per annum. DBS and catering qualifications are included.

Qualifications

• Hands-on chef with excellent cooking skills.
• Experience running a kitchen in a school or catering setting is preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a kitchen.
• Must comply with food safety and health & safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Work solo in the kitchen to maintain smooth operation.
• Cater for approx. 80 covers daily.
• Prepare and deliver fresh, seasonal meals to a high standard.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and due diligence requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with onsite stakeholders and clients.
• Oversee stock control, ordering and kitchen organisation.
• Drive food quality, consistency and presentation.

Enhance Catering is supporting a valued client in recruiting a Chef Manager to support the catering operation at a wonderful primary school in Harrogate. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, hands‑on chef who enjoys working with fresh ingredients, and delivering a high‑quality food service.

You will be a Chef Manager, Cook Manager, Head Chef, Sous Chef, Nursery Chef ready to step up, with excellent cooking skills. You take pride in running a well‑organised, efficient kitchen and are confident producing high‑quality meals.

What You'll be doing

• Confident in working in the kitchen alone
• Catering for approx. 80 covers daily
• Prepare and deliver fresh, seasonal food to a consistently high standard
• Ensure full compliance with all food safety, health & safety, and due diligence requirements
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with onsite stakeholders and clients
• Oversee stock control, ordering, and kitchen organisation
• Drive food quality, consistency, and presentation

• Pay Rate - £20,000 per annum
• Working Hours - 27.5 hours per week | 8.00am to 1.30pm
