Job summary

BaxterStorey UK is seeking a Chef Manager for Reading RG6 1PT. This Monday–Friday role runs 07:00–15:00 (37.5 hours/week) with a salary of £38,000–£40,000 per annum. You will lead the kitchen, plan menus, manage costs and ensure high food safety standards while delivering top guest experiences.

Responsibilities

• Menu planning and execution, overseeing food prep and presentation.
• Recruiting, training, and supervising kitchen and FOH staff; coaching.
• Monitor stock levels and manage cost controls.
• Engage with customers to understand catering needs and maintain feedback loops.
• Assist head chef to ensure health and safety compliance.
• Develop and manage kitchen budgets; report on financial performance.
• Stay updated on culinary trends and innovate menus.
• Maintain records of inventory, orders, and food prep processes.
