Job summary

Synergymedicalrec is seeking an experienced Chef Manager to oversee the hospital kitchen in South East England. You will manage the catering operation, lead the kitchen team, and ensure high standards of food quality, hygiene and patient satisfaction in a healthcare setting.

The role covers kitchen management, menu planning, food safety, stock control and compliance, with day shifts and flexible working hours as indicated. Previous hospital or care home catering experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Chef Manager or Senior Chef in a healthcare/catering environment.
• Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, dietary requirements and hygiene standards.
• Ability to lead and develop a catering team in a hospital or care setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations and ensure smooth catering service delivery.
• Plan, prepare and supervise meals meeting dietary and nutritional requirements.
• Lead, motivate and support kitchen staff to maintain high service standards.
• Assist with menu planning to meet nutritional, dietary and patient needs.
• Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health & safety and infection control standards.
• Monitor stock levels, place orders and minimise waste while maintaining supplies.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness and regulatory compliance.
