Job summary

BaxterStorey in Sunderland is seeking a Chef de Partie on a Mon-Fri schedule (35hrs with overtime available) to join its culinary team. The role offers full-time permanent employment with a strong focus on skill development and work-life balance.

You will lead food preparation, manage your station, ensure quality and safety, and collaborate with the head chef to refine menus. The environment rewards creativity and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working as a Commis Chef or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation – prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and standards; ensure food safety at all times.
• Station Management – oversee production for your station and keep area stocked and clean.
• Quality Control – maintain high quality, presentation and taste.
• Team Collaboration – communicate effectively with team members and assist colleagues.
• Menu Development – collaborate with head chef to develop and taste new recipes.
• Cleaning and Maintenance – keep kitchen and equipment clean and in good working order.
