Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is hiring a Chef de Partie for Sonning Gardens Care Home in Reading. You will assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef to deliver a nutritionally balanced, high-quality culinary service supporting residents' wellbeing.

The role involves menu development, maintaining food quality, stock management, and collaboration with the culinary team in a caring, values-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Holds catering qualification (City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ) or equivalent.
• Holds Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Minimum 1 year catering experience.
• Demonstrates compassion and commitment to high-quality services for residents.
• Adaptable and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Taking part in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss catering functions and dietary needs.
• Preparing nutritious food and beverages to a high standard as directed by Head Chef.
• Supporting cost-effective stock control and menu development with the team.
