Job summary

San Carlo Manchester is hiring a Pizza Chef to join our busy kitchen team. You will prepare and cook pizza and related dishes, uphold recipes and quality standards, and collaborate with chefs to deliver meals promptly in a fast-paced Italian restaurant.

The role requires 2 years in a similar role, excellent communication, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive, independent approach. Competitive salary and opportunities for progression within a growing group across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking food in assigned kitchen section (grill, pasta, meat & fish, or pastry)

• Manage own kitchen section and supervise commis chefs or kitchen assistants
• Keep kitchen section clean, organised and equipment maintained
• Collaborate with kitchen staff and management for timely service
• Adhere to food safety and allergen policies
• Maintain records of inventory, prep, and waste for own section
• Treat everyone with respect and stay calm under pressure

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing and cooking food intheir assigned section of the kitchen, such as grill, pasta, meat & fish, orpastry
• Ensuring that all foodpreparation and cooking is done in accordance with established recipes andquality standards
• Managing their section of thekitchen, including overseeing the work of any commis chefs or kitchenassistants
• Ensuring that their section ofthe kitchen is clean and organised, and that all equipment is properlymaintained
• Collaborating with otherkitchen staff and restaurant management to ensure that food is prepared andserved in a timely manner
• Adhering to company foodsafety and allergens policy
• Maintaining accurate recordsof food inventory, preparation, and waste for their section of the kitchen
• Treat everyone with respectand remain calm at all times

Required Qualifications &Experience:

• 2 year’s experience in asimilar role
• Excellent communication skills
• Meticulous attention todetail, highly organised and capable of handling multiple tasks
• A proactive self-starter whocan work independently with good judgement and minimal direction
