Job summary

San Carlo Group is hiring a Chef de Partie for our Manchester kitchen. You will prepare and cook dishes in your section, maintain recipes, and ensure quality standards.

• Preparing and cooking food in assigned section (grill, pasta, meat & fish, or pastry)
• Ensuring all preparation and cooking meets recipes and quality standards
• Supervising commis chefs or kitchen assistants in your section
• Keeping your section clean, organised, and equipment maintained
• Collaborating with kitchen staff and management to serve meals promptly
• Adhering to food safety and allergens policy
• Maintaining records of inventory, preparation, and waste for your section
• Treating everyone with respect and staying calm under pressure

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing and cooking food in their assigned section of the kitchen, such as grill, pasta, meat & fish, or pastry
• Ensuring that all food preparation and cooking is done in accordance with established recipes and quality standards
• Managing their section of the kitchen, including overseeing the work of any commis chefs or kitchen assistants
• Ensuring that their section of the kitchen is clean and organised, and that all equipment is properly maintained
• Collaborating with other kitchen staff and restaurant management to ensure that food is prepared and served in a timely manner
• Adhering to company food safety and allergens policy
• Maintaining accurate records of food inventory, preparation, and waste for their section of the kitchen
• Treat everyone with respect and remain calm at all times

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• 2 year's experience in a similar role
• Excellent communication skills
• Meticulous attention to detail, highly organised and capable of handling multiple tasks
• A proactive self-starter who can work independently with good judgement and minimal direction
