Shifts: 5 shifts over 7 days including weekends. Every third weekend off.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Chef de Partie with a background in exceptional food catering services to join our business and work at one of our highly prestigious education settings.

Nestled in the heart of Buckingham, this prestigious independent school, Stowe School, caters for up to 3,000 pupils, as well as boarders and staff, and includes breakfast, lunch, and supper service, along with extensive hospitality services. This operates 7 days a week, but you will work 5 days over 7 with a well-organised schedule to help you maintain a positive work-life balance.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Chef de Partie to make a name for themselves within our contract catering company and set a new standard for education catering.

Job Description

As a Chef de Partie, you will collaborate with our culinary team to craft flavorful dishes that nourish both body and mind.

You should have excellent presentation, organizational, and communication skills, a passion for food & service, and enthusiasm.

  • Ensure the quality and presentation of all dishes meet company standards and client expectations.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff and assistants, ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Oversee stock control and ordering to maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing waste.
  • Collaborate with the catering team to execute special events, themed dinners, and culinary initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment, following health and safety regulations.
  • Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef with administrative tasks such as scheduling, budgeting, and record-keeping of food costs and inventory.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, culinary techniques, and new ingredients to enhance menus and dining experiences.
  • Foster a positive working environment through leadership, effective communication, and teamwork.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a similar role within contract catering or educational settings preferred.
  • Culinary degree or relevant certifications from a recognized culinary institute.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume kitchen.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Enthusiastic and fun personality.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Team player who enjoys working collaboratively.
