Job summary

Bob and Berts Cookstown is seeking a passionate Chef to join our busy café kitchen. You will support daily food prep, create seasonal dishes, maintain high food safety standards, and help deliver comforting meals our guests love.

This role offers a chef-friendly rota with no late-night finishes, Monday–Friday finishes by 8pm and weekend by 6pm, plus generous staff perks and career growth opportunities within a supportive team.

Qualifications

Experience in cafe or busy kitchen environments.
Ability to create menus and manage costs.
Ability to work quickly and cleanly under pressure.
Food Hygiene Certificate preferred.
Leadership to train and motivate junior staff.
Passionate about food, team oriented, and friendly.
Right to work in the UK is required.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute creative, fresh, and seasonal cafe menus, including breakfast and lunch.
Prepare and cook menu items to high quality standards.
Ensure all dishes are prepared to spec and presented aesthetically.
Monitor stock levels, manage inventory, and place orders with suppliers, while minimizing wastage.
Maintain a spotless kitchen workspace and adhere to food safety regulations.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service and handle special requests.
