Job summary

Bridge Oak Care Homes is seeking a Chef/Cook for Priory Gardens, Pontefract, to prepare nutritious meals aligned with residents' preferences and dietary needs. The role covers supervision of Kitchen Team, stock management, and compliance with HACCP and health-safety standards in a supportive care-home environment.

You will join a team focused on person-centred care, dignity and comfort for residents, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Plan, prepare and cook a variety of meals that are nutritious and cater for dietary needs.
• Supervise and appraise the Kitchen Team.
• Interview applicants for vacancies within the Kitchen Team.
• Comply with HACCP, Health and Safety, COSHH and Environmental Health.
• Maintain cleaning schedules and stock control.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and cook meals for residents with attention to dietary needs and preferences.
• Supervise and support the Kitchen Team and conduct appraisals.
• Interview Kitchen Team applicants and assist in inductions.
• Ensure hygiene, safety and food safety standards are met across the kitchen.
• Manage stock levels and ordering from approved suppliers.
