Job summary

Highgate Care Services Ltd in Stockport is hiring a Chef/Cook to join the team at Cheadle Grange, delivering nutritious, appetising meals tailored to residents’ preferences and dietary needs, while maintaining HACCP standards.

As part of a warm, supportive team, you’ll plan, prepare and cook meals, supervise kitchen activities, and participate in resident and staff meetings to ensure high-quality catering and a caring environment for our residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering within a care setting is advantageous.
• Ability to plan, prepare and cook meals to residents' dietary needs.
• A warm, approachable, and reliable individual who supports a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and cook a variety of meals appealing and nutritious.
• Follow Good Food Guide and obtain authorisation for amendments.
• Provide guidance to the kitchen team and maintain a friendly environment.
• Supervise and appraise kitchen staff and interview applicants.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, Health and Safety, COSHH and EH requirements.
• Maintain cleaning schedules and ensure kitchen areas are spotless.
• Order stock, rotate food, and manage supplier deliveries.
• Support home manager with catering staff development and resident meetings.
