Job summary

Thomas Franks Ltd in South Shields is seeking a Chef De Partie to join our prestigious catering team at one of our sites. You will work in a fast-paced kitchen, preparing meals from fresh seasonal ingredients and following our brand standards.

You should be an organized team player with a passion for great food, able to manage wastage, maintain hygiene, and contribute to consistently high-quality service for pupils and teachers. This full-time, 40-hour role runs Monday to Friday, 52 weeks a year.

Qualifications

• Team player with good communication in a kitchen setting.
• Experience in preparing meals from fresh ingredients.
• Creative approach to menu items and plating.
• Ability to read and follow recipe and brand standards.

Responsibilities

• Work in a team of chefs to provide catering for pupils and teachers.
• Prepare meals from fresh ingredients, cooking from scratch and following brand standards.
• Ensure food hygiene and allergen control procedures are followed.
• Help manage wastage and understand basics of food costing.

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: £15 per hour

Hours: 40h per week

An iconic family owned British clothing brand based in South Shields. Catering for about 200 people daily. We offer a core feeding of lunch with lots of hospitality and Free Issue. This is a Monday to Friday operation working 52 weeks a year.

We are looking for a talented Chef De Partie to join our team at one of our prestigious locations in South Shields.

You will have previous experience of working within a fast-paced kitchen at CDP or junior sous chef level.

You will be excited to work with fresh seasonal ingredients & regularly changing bespoke menus. You will be creative and have the opportunity to showcase your skillset.

Key Responsibilities

• To work well in a team of chefs providing catering services to pupils and teachers
• To produce food for service using fresh ingredients, cooking from scratch and following the companies brand standards
• Ensuring company food standards are adhered to and wastage controlled.
• Ensuring all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures are followed.

Knowledge / Competencies

• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.

• Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is preferred
