Job summary

ALOR HEALTHCARE LIMITED, Gilmerton Care Home in Edinburgh, is recruiting a Chef on a 30‑hour contract. The role offers 14.58 per hour with PVG, pension and uniform provided, plus five and a half weeks of annual leave pro‑rata.

As part of the kitchen team you will prepare and serve meals that are nutritious and tailored to residents' dietary needs, support menu planning, uphold strict food hygiene, and help create a warm, family‑like dining experience.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working within a professional kitchen environment is essential
• Food Hygiene certification or understanding of food safety standards is beneficial
• Ability to work independently while supporting the wider kitchen team
• Good organisation skills with ability to manage food preparation and maintain high standards
• Reliable, professional and hardworking approach with genuine passion for quality food preparation

Gilmerton Care Home, located in the peaceful south of Edinburgh, offers exceptional residential, nursing, dementia, and respite care. • 14.58 per hour
