Job summary

Gilmerton Care Home in Edinburgh is seeking a Care Home Assistant Practitioner to join our dedicated team. You will work alongside nurses to provide enhanced personal and clinical care, supporting residents with wellbeing and care planning in a friendly, patient‑centred environment.

The role offers a fixed schedule, with 7:45 AM to 8:00 PM shifts, paid PVG, pension, uniform, and 5.6 weeks annual leave for full‑time staff. Previous care experience and SVQ Level 3 are requested.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working within a care environment is essential.
• SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
• Confidence supporting residents with more complex care needs.
• Good communication skills and ability to work closely with Nurses and the wider team.
• Compassionate, professional and reliable approach with strong attention to detail.
• Genuine passion for delivering high quality care and supporting resident wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Nurses and the wider care team to support residents with care planning and wellbeing.
• Provide hands-on personal care and assist with monitoring wellbeing and safety.
• Support residents with daily activities and communicate changes to the team to maintain high standards of care.

Care Home Assistant Practitioner Contract

• £14.50 per hour
• 38.5 hours per week
• Shift Times - 7:45AM -8PM
• Paid PVG, pension and uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)
