Job summary

Aramark is seeking a Chef at Marne Barracks, Catterick, to deliver high-quality, nutritious meals to military personnel and visitors in a busy environment.

You will join a catering team, prepare daily meals and support with stock control, records, and food safety. The role offers a structured schedule with shifts from early morning to early evening, including some weekends.

Qualifications

• A relevant culinary qualification (706/1 or 706/2 or equivalent).
• Confident chef who loves working as part of a team.
• Flexible, creative, and passionate about great food.
• Ability to pass security vetting and DBS checks (UK residency for past 3 years required).

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner – plus events.
• Mentoring new colleagues and working as part of a catering team.
• Managing stock, placing orders, and keeping kitchen records up to date.
• Maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
• Supporting kitchen deep cleans and due diligence paperwork.

Job description

Location: Marne Barracks, Catterick, DL10 7NP
Pay rate: £13.05 per hour
Contract type: Permanent, full-time, 35 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 (including some weekends and functions)
Shift pattern: Between 06:00 and 19:00, so your evenings are your own!
