Job summary

Aramark UK is hiring a Chef at Alexander Barracks, Pirbright, to cook meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, including special events. You’ll join a busy catering team serving recruits, with emphasis on quality, safety, and teamwork in a Defence sector setting.

The role requires a relevant culinary qualification, flexibility, and the ability to pass vetting and DBS checks. On-site benefits include parking, uniforms, and meals on shift, with opportunities for growth within the organisation.

Qualifications

• A relevant culinary qualification (NVQ Level 1/Level 2 or equivalent).
• A confident chef who loves working as part of a team and can help with contract catering for large numbers.
• Flexibility, creativity, and a passion for great food.
• Ability to pass security vetting and DBS checks (UK residency for the past 3 years required).

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner – plus fine dining for special events.
• Following recipes and all policies and procedures
• Working as part of a talented team and mentoring new colleagues.
• Managing stock, placing orders, and keeping kitchen records up to date.
• Maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
• Supporting with kitchen deep cleans and due diligence paperwork.

Pay rate: £14.76 per hour
Contract type: Permanent, full-time, 37.5 hours per week, andy 5 days out of 7 (includes some weekends)
Shift times: Early shift 0500 – 1330; Late shift 1130 - 1930
