Job summary

Shaw Healthcare is seeking a chef to join Elizabeth House, a 60-bed dementia care home in Bognor Regis. You will prepare, cook and serve meals daily, cater for events, and ensure dietary needs are met with a varied, culturally considerate menu.

You will order supplies within budget, maintain HACCP records, support health and safety, and participate in inspections by regulatory bodies. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to excellent resident care.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, cooking and serving meals for residents and others as required, in a timely manner.
• Providing a varied diet, catering for the cultural preferences of those who use our services.
• Catering for celebrations and other events in our Home.
• Ordering supplies within the catering budget and company policy guidelines, using approved suppliers in the absence of the senior cook
• Maintaining accurate catering records in accordance with HACCP.
• Participating in inspections by Environmental Health and/or care regulators and Local Authorities.
• Maintaining a high standard of hygiene within the kitchen by adhering to HACCP and COSHH guidelines.
• Assisting in the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment by ensuring adherence to Health & Safety and Welfare.

Shift Times: On 4 weekly Rota - Week 1 and 3: Thursday and Friday, Week 2 and 4: Saturday and Sunday working 9am-5pm,

You will also establish a rapport with our residents and their families in order to satisfy their dietary needs. This will include, but not limited to:
• Preparing, cooking and serving meals for residents and others as required, in a timely manner.
