Job summary

Shaw healthcare is seeking a Chef for Rotherlea, a modern 70-bed care home in Petworth. You will prepare nutritious meals, plan menus, and lead the catering team, working a 37.5-hour or 22-hour rota with some weekend shifts.

The role supports dementia, residential and respite care, with opportunities to contribute to a caring, high-quality dining experience for residents.

Location: Rotherlea, Dawtrey Rd, Petworth GU28 0EA
Contract: Full time or part time available - 37.5hrs or 22hrs per week
Salary: £17.44 per hour
Working Hours: Between 7am - 5pm on a 4-week rolling Rota (shift times can be flexible) - requirement to work alternative weekends

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Preparing, cooking and serving fresh, high-quality meals for residents.
• Planning varied, nutritious menus that cater for dietary, cultural and individual preferences.
• Supporting celebrations, themed events and special occasions with delicious catering.
• Ordering stock within budget and company guidelines using approved suppliers.
• Maintaining accurate food safety records in line with HACCP requirements.
• Ensuring the kitchen consistently meets high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, following all procedures.
• Leading, motivating and supporting members of the catering team.
