Job summary

Brandon James in Birmingham seeks a Chartered Building Surveyor to handle complex commercial property work within an independent consultancy. The role combines technical due diligence, dilapidations and contract administration with close client contact and collaboration with surveying, PM, cost consultancy and design teams.

The position offers a balanced mix of project and professional work, enabling you to deepen technical expertise while taking ownership of clients, fees and project outcomes.

Qualifications

• MRICS qualification.
• Relevant Building Surveying degree.
• Experience in construction consultancy.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage clients and consultant teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from initial advice through to completion
• Act as Contract Administrator and Project Manager
• Prepare specifications, tenders and technical reports
• Undertake surveys, defect analysis and due diligence
• Manage client communication and project reporting
• Coordinate internal and external consultant teams
• Deliver dilapidations and planned maintenance advice
• Support fee proposals and repeat business
• Mentor junior staff where appropriate
