Job summary

Brandon James Ltd is seeking a Chartered Building Surveyor in Oxfordshire to lead surveys, assessments and project work with direct client access and autonomy. The role blends professional and project work with site-focused responsibilities across residential, commercial and mixed-use properties.

You will manage from inception to completion, with occasional travel across the region and a focus on delivering value within budgets and timelines.

Qualifications

• MRICS status with post-qualification experience in building surveying.
• Strong track record across professional services and project-led work.
• Confident report writing and specification drafting skills.
• Experience managing projects through tender to practical completion.
• Competence advising on building regulations, legislation and health & safety.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Carry out building surveys, condition assessments and defect diagnosis across a varied portfolio.
• Prepare designs, costings, project programmes and specifications.
• Manage tender processes and advise on procurement routes and contractor appointments.
• Lead projects from inception to completion including contract administration.
• Advise clients on maintenance strategies and building management.
• Provide guidance on property legislation and health and safety.
• Undertake feasibility studies for development and refurbishment schemes.
• Deliver work to programme and within budgets.
