Job summary

OBR Group is seeking a transformative technology leader to head the Change function. You will guide a six-person team, turning strategy into delivery while acting as second in command to the Head of Change, with autonomy to make impactful decisions.

The role focuses on information security, infrastructure scalability, and agile delivery, with a track record of coaching teams to think bigger and grow together.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a technical or multi-disciplinary team.
• Security experience across cyber, infrastructure, Microsoft or Azure security, or ISO audits.
• Understanding infrastructure to support a growing business.
• Delivering work in sprints or agile environments.
• Coaching others rather than commanding, helping teams grow.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team day to day, including line management and escalation.
• Manage delivery, including sprint planning, calendars, milestones and roadmaps.
• Own information security and embed security practices with leadership support.
• Shape the technology infrastructure to support growth.
• Identify automation/AI opportunities to improve processes with practical impact.
• Build and develop a high-performing team and onboard new starters effectively.

Our client is an FCA-authorised consumer finance lender. In two years it has changed from a traditional business into a modern, tech-led one. Now it's building a fully digital, direct-to-consumer brand and taking it to market online.

The Role

This is a new leadership role at the heart of the technology and change function. You'll lead a team of six and turn strategy into delivery. You'll also be second in command to the Head of Change, so will be trusted and given the autonamy to make decisions you believe in.

Responsibilities

• You will lead the team day to day, taking responsibility for line management, development and acting as the first point of escalation.
• You’ll manage the team’s delivery, including sprint planning, delivery calendars, milestones and roadmaps.
• You’ll take ownership of information security, helping to establish and embed security practices across the business with full backing from the wider leadership team.
• You’ll help shape the technology infrastructure, making sure it can support the business as it continues to grow.
• You’ll identify opportunities to improve processes through automation and AI, focusing on practical changes that make a genuine difference.
• And importantly, you’ll build and develop a high-performing team, creating an environment where people feel supported, challenged to think bigger and new starters are set up for success.

What We're Looking For

• You've managed people in a technical or multi-disciplinary team
• You've got security experience of any kind: cyber, infrastructure, Microsoft or Azure security, Cyber Essentials or ISO audits. This is the skill the team needs most
• You understand infrastructure and how it supports a growing business
• You've delivered in sprints or worked in an agile way
• You coach rather than command, and you enjoy helping others grow
